Can I Be a Coach?
Can anyone coach?
Yes, but the coaching profession recognizes different levels of expertise up to and including master coaches who are certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
What makes for a good coach?
A good coach is an active listener, is intuitive, curious, loves learning, and has the discipline to help his/her clients self-manage identified objectives designed to produce a desired outcome.
Is MentorCoach a good place to start?
MentorCoach offers a progressive, distance coaching program requiring 125 classroom hours and 250 coaching hours of which six hours are supervised. MentorCoach is the only coaching program presently offering master-level training in running virtual groups comprised of high-performance teams, mentoring, and support groups. MentorCoach is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and graduates receive a Certified MentorCoach (CMC) designation which also is recognized by ICF towards the ACC, PCC, and MCC coaching certifcations as one's coaching hours accumulate from 250 to 750 and then 2500, respectively.
