Point of View

Point of view (POV) is the most difficult concept for new writers to understand; this is the key step from transitioning your idea into a story; choices include first, second, third person, and omniscient. Think of a director looking through a camera lense and then cutting the scene and replaying the video scene; POV is only what you want your audience to see, not what's in the director's (author's) head. Remember this and you won't get caught with the most prevalent mistake new writers make--switching POV in the same scene.
