UNC Houses Southern Cultures

UNC publishes Southern Cultures, a quarterly journal of UNC's Center for the Study of the American South since 1992. Topics range from kudzu, horses as "equine relics" of the Civil War, the Southern accent, the role of the hog, the history and concept of "redneck," professional wrestling, and sorority rushes. There are over 3,000 subscribers today that fills a niche for southern history and culture.
